Serving Dinner at St. Vincent de Paul
On Saturday 7/7 we'll be back to serve dinner to families in need at SVDP!
The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Milwaukee is an organization dedicated to the elimination of hunger and poverty in our community. They provide free meals 5 nights per week at this location, as well as at a location on Milwaukee's south side. Last year, they served over 102,000 meals, over 15,000 of those meals were served to children.
There are TWO opportunities to serve:
1) SBK families will help serve dinner to 100+ adults and children on 7/7. These SBK families will bring desserts to share with the guests as well as serve them dinner. Max capacity 10 families, all ages welcome.
NOTE: There is no specific age requirement, but because we will be serving to the public, SVDP reminds us that it is very important to be attentive to your kids during the project.
2) Families can donate items prior. For those who want to serve but cannot be at the project can donate apples/oranges, gently used children/youth books or 100% fruit juice, apples and/or granola bars. All items will need to be dropped off at our planner's home in Wauwatosa between 7/5 and 7/6. The exact address will be provided prior to anyone who signs up. No maximum capacity.
Thank you for lending a hand!
A friendly reminder to sign up for one project per month in order to give as many SBK families as possible the chance to volunteer together!
