YOU ARE REGISTERING FOR SESSION #2 (12pm-2pm)
(due to system limitations Session #1 was sent via a separate email)
Blessings in a Backpack mobilizes communities, individuals and resources to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children across America who might otherwise go hungry.
On Saturday 4/27, we will be helping the local Waukesha chapter support local children by unpacking boxes and repacking food in bags, assembly line style.
At bag fill events groups will usually fill 1,200 bags with 9 food items/bag. That's a total of over 10,000 items! We'll be picking up the items at Sam's Club earlier that morning -- for kids who like a visual, this is 2-3 pallets worth of food that we are able to help Blessings in a Backpack provide to kids and families in need throughout the school year.
When: 2 shifts on 4/27 from 10am-12pm and 12pm-2pm
Where: We are still awaiting final confirmation on location from Blessings in a Backpack, but it will likely be in Brookfield.
Capacity: 10 families per session
Age: This project is open to all ages, but ideal for slightly older kids. Per our host, there must be a 1:1 parent ratio for all kids under 8 years old. They did say that a family member or babysitter could help fill that 1:1 match. Note: this requirement from our host is only for children under 8 years old.
