Let's play ball!

On Thursday 7/11 we'll be assisting kids with differ-abilities at a Miracle League Milwaukee Baseball game.  From what we're told, each volunteer is paired with a player to assist during the game as a buddy.  The players will have a range of abilities. This is a great chance for our SBK kids who love sports to play with some new team members! 

Please arrive promptly by 5:45 so they can pair us up with our athletes.

Note: We are looking to schedule another session with younger players, but because this game is for ages 12+, we'll be looking for SBK volunteers who are 10 and up.

"The Miracle League believes everyone deserves the chance to play baseball. The league allows all children to play organized baseball, regardless of ability. Kids with special-needs dress in uniforms, make plays in the field and round the bases, just like their peers in standard little leagues.

Miracle League baseball is played on a custom-designed field featuring a cushioned, rubberized, completely flat surface to prevent injuries and allow access for the visually impaired and those in wheelchairs. All areas of the field, including the dugouts and restrooms, are universally accessible."
