Let's play ball!
This is our 4th and final trip to Miracle League this summer because it has been incredibly popular, and for good reason. This is a special space with great game-day energy!
On Wed, August 17th Sunbeam Kids will be assisting youth with diverse-abilities at a Miracle League Milwaukee Baseball game through the YMCA. Volunteers age 10+ are paired with a player to assist during the game as buddies. The players will have a range of abilities and since we are going to the early game the players will be in the younger age range.
This is a great chance for our SBK kids who love sports to play with some new team members, however, no sports experience, equipment, or knowledge of baseball is necessary. Last time we were there we even had the chance to dress up as the mascot, Homer! It's all about making it a great experience for the players and their families.
Thanks to Vanessa Eisenmann for being our project leader! You can look for Vanessa (contact info will be sent with registration confirmation) as well as Becca, the YMCA point person, when you arrive at the field. Additional details will be sent to registrants prior to 8/17.
Please arrive promptly by 5:45pm so they can pair us up with our player buddies. We have committed to 15 spots this evening.
The Details:
Registration Type: All are welcome - SBK members and guests! As for all projects, if an emergency comes and you need to cancel up please let us know ASAP so we can find another buddy.
Ages: 10+ for buddies per the YMCA, all ages to cheer
Maximum Capacity: 15 buddies ages 10+ (kids or adults)
As a reminder you can always sign up for other dates on your own with neighbors, family, friends, a team, etc. as well but it's always fun to go with a group!

"The Miracle League believes everyone deserves the chance to play baseball. The league allows all children to play organized baseball, regardless of ability. Kids with special-needs dress in uniforms, make plays in the field and round the bases, just like their peers in standard little leagues.
Miracle League baseball is played on a custom-designed field featuring a cushioned, rubberized, completely flat surface to prevent injuries and allow access for the visually impaired and those in wheelchairs. All areas of the field, including the dugouts and restrooms, are universally accessible."
