A little kindness can make a big difference in someone's life...and what better way to do that than feeding people in a time of need? You are invited to make bag lunches for the Street Angels Milwaukee Outreach.

Street Angels Milwaukee Outreach is a small but mighty group of individuals who conduct street outreach for the homeless three nights per week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. In addition to a hot meal, the group provides friends with a "lunch for later". Our homeless friends really seem to enjoy the brown bag lunches.

There is a need for 180 lunches on Sunday, September 11th.

Street Angels is committed to helping the homelessness and is working hard to safely meet the needs of these vulnerable citizens, especially in this hot summer weather. Each bag lunch should contain:

  • Sandwich (pb&j or lunchmeat, no condiments please)
  • Soft fruit such as tangerines, bananas, plums, etc. (Fruit cups w/a spoon are good too)
  • Chewy granola or protein bar
  • Individual bag of chips
  • Individual sweet treat
  • Water flavor packet for bottled water drinks
  • String cheese, beef sticks, etc.

Other suggestions could be pre-packaged containers of fresh veggies w/dip, pudding cups, applesauce, crackers, trail mix, etc.

Each family who registers will be asked to supply the contents for and assemble TEN (10) bag lunches for the Street Angels program.

Preparation:

With the current COVID-19 environment, Street Angels asks that bag lunches are prepared in a clean space using social distancing precautions.

Drop Off:

There are two options for drop off this time.

1. At Street AngelsDrop off is on Sunday, September 11 and MUST be delivered to Street Angels between 5:30-5:45pm. Their location is 1236 South Layton Blvd, in the rear parking lot. When dropping off bag lunches on the night of outreach, please drop off in bags or boxes that you will not need returned. To keep with social distance, we ask that you place the lunches by one of our buses, which our team will place on the bus.

2. At our project manager Kayte Parkin's home in Elm Grove - Drop off is on 9/11 by 4:30pm at the latest so she can get to Street Angels in time.  Kayte's address will be shared upon signup for anyone who chooses this option. Thank you to Kayte for this option!

Please note these very specific timeframe needed from Street Angels and only sign up if you can deliver to one of these locations at the times noted.

A list of all upcoming projects can be found at www.sunbeamkids.org . We're adding projects all the time so please stay tuned!
