Score with Super Hoops Basketball (YMCA Adaptive League - Ages 10+ Player Partner)

Overview:

It's time to shoot some hoops with our friends in the YMCA adaptive basketball league called Super Hoops. On Saturday, March 16th Sunbeam Kids will be assisting youth with diverse-abilities at a Super Hoops game through the YMCA. We'll gather at 11:45 am to get paired with our player partners and the game should wrap up around 1 pm.

This is a great chance for our SBK kids who love sports to play with some new team members, however, no sports experience or equipment is necessary.

What to expect: 

Volunteers age 10+ are paired with a player to assist on and off the court as player partners.  The players will have a range of abilities. It's all about making it a great experience for the players and their families so we stay flexible on how we can best lend a little hand. 

Capacity & Age Recommendations:

Volunteers must be age 10 or older, but younger siblings are welcome to come cheer. We have space for 18 player partners -- parents/caregivers can be player partners too! 

What to wear:

No specific clothing requirement- whatever would be comfortable to move around in to play basketball. We love seeing you wear your SBK shirts and name tag lanyards if you have them! 

What to bring:

Just yourself and a smile. 

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. 

This project is currently open to members* but we will be happy to open it up to guests if there is available space approximately one week prior to the project date. Please only sign up if you know you can attend. We understand illness and emergencies do come up so if you register and can no longer attend, please let us know ASAP so we can fill your spot.
