Havenwoods State Forest Cleanup

Overview:

Havenwoods State Forest is Wisconsin's only urban state forest. The forest was created to provide an urban green space and an environmental education center. We will be attending their Stewardship Saturday. Join Sunbeam Kids on Saturday, October 26th from 9:00-11:00 am as we pick up litter before Havenwoods' Autumn Celebration.

What to expect:

Following your GPS you will arrive at the entrance to Havenwoods' entrance. A vehicle admission sticker is not required at Havenwoods. SBK families will gather outside the Nature Center at 9 am to get instructions and begin the litter cleanup. We will conclude at 11 am at which time you're welcome to leave or stay for any of the Autumn Celebration activities - see "Additional Info" section below.

Capacity & Age Recommendations:

Open to all ages and we are happy to welcome as many families as would like to participate, including guest registrations.

What to bring:

Please bring gardening gloves or medical exam gloves to protect hands while picking up litter.

What to wear:

Wear outdoor, weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes. Kids can wear their Sunbeam Kids shirts if they would like!

Project Leader: Mary Fenelon

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

This project is open to both members* and guest registrations. Please only sign up if you know you can attend. We understand illness and emergencies do come up but they are counting on our hands, so if you register and can no longer attend, please let us know ASAP so we can work to fill your spot.

Thank you to our Board Member Mary Fenelon for leading this project, and thank YOU for lending a little hand!

Amanda Barnhart

Board President

*While we rely on member donations to keep the good work going, we never want the $40/family/year to be a hurdle to volunteering with us. If you are in need of assistance, we do have a limited number of scholarships available that are 100% confidential, just email and ask!
