Craft Kits for Ronald McDonald House
Overview:
Ronald McDonald House (RMDH) is located near Children's Hospital in Milwaukee and provides a place for families to stay while receiving treatment at Children's and other area hospitals. It has 84 private guest rooms plus kitchens and other common spaces that allow families to stay at little to no cost.
Days spent at the hospital often feel long and activity kits are one way patients/siblings/caregivers can pass the time. As a group, we will assemble individual craft kits which will be delivered to RMDH. Join us on Sunday, February 23rd from 1:30-2:30 pm as we pack kits for the families staying at RMDH to enjoy.
What to expect:
We'll start with a brief overview of what RMDH is and then will get to work packing the kits. We may have two different types of kits so the group may split into two teams depending on the number of families that sign up. There will be various jobs available such as counting out the beads for each kit, cutting string, etc.
Capacity & Age Recommendations:
This event is open to all ages and we have room for approximately 10 families. Members* will be able to register for the first week, and then we will open any remaining available spots to guests one week prior to the project.
What to bring:
Feel free to wear your SBK shirt if you have one and bring your lanyard to collect your ribbon if you're a member.
No need to bring any additional materials for this event- we'll have all the materials on site to complete the kits.
Additional information:
This project will be held in the Heritage Room on the first floor of the New Berlin Public Library.
